Preventing Wildfires Saves Time
CRWR 205: Creative Writing for Nonfiction
Exploring different forms of creative nonfiction in this course, I had the opportunity to write a personal essay about my family's cabin on the Sunshine Coast and the increasingly dangerous wildfires that British Columbia experiences each summer. The goal of the assignment was to weave personal experiences and relevant topics together, creating a work of nonfiction that offers a window into unique experience while still appealing to a greater audience with a broader-reaching and relatable topic. This piece delves into personal and collective history, narrating how climate change has impacted British Columbians throughout the years.
